Full day on the peninsula

Full day: Summit then village coast

Best for: Fit visitors who want the summit plus one extra — Fingal or a short Coastal Walk section

Early summit, Fort Tomaree, then Fingal Bay (flags if patrolled) or the signed Coastal Walk as far as Fingal (~7 km from the summit). Stop. Village dinner in Nelson Bay.

Where this goes wrong: “we’ll just keep walking” until One Mile with no water and no bus.

Pick one extra after the summit, not three. Official Day 1 to One Mile is ~18 km and 7–8 hours — that is tomorrow’s itinerary, not this one.

Always check NSW National Parks alerts. Not walked by site authors.

Track status, weather and closures change — verify on NSW National Parks before you leave, then use the timeline below as a planning skeleton only.
