Guide updated · verify live track status with NSW National Parks
The southern Coastal Walk segment and the Birubi Point Aboriginal Place finish. Cultural artwork and audio on official materials. Patrolled Birubi beach in season. Slot Canyon lookout sits on this stretch.
Do not pair: Do not stack a 4WD dune tour immediately after 9 km of sand walking.
Turnaround: Anna Bay road is always there. Use it.
- Basing in Nelson Bay with no afternoon bus and a one-way walk ending at Birubi.
- Standalone NPWS page: Grade 3, 7.5 km one-way; Coastal Walk map lists One Mile–Birubi ~9 km as part of the Grade 4 27 km
- Official standalone page 4–4.5 hrs (7.5 km); Coastal Walk Day 2 3.5–4.5 hrs (~9 km)
- 7.5 km one-way on the Birubi Point to One Mile page; ~9 km on the Coastal Walk map (both official — confirm signs)
- Effort: moderate
- Best for: Cultural finish, shorter Coastal Walk day, Anna Bay base
Distance, grade, time and open/closed status change — verify on NSW National Parks before you go.

Finish (or start) at the cultural artwork and official audio. Listen; do not add stories that are not on the official interpretation. Worimi Conservation Lands dunes next door are a different land manager — camel/quad/sandboard products are not NPWS camping.
